My Inspiration to Blog: Finding My Voice Again

If you had told my middle school self that one day I'd be a full-time blogger, I think she would have grinned from ear to ear, but she probably wouldn't have believed it.
Back then, writing was my escape. I'd fill notebook after notebook with short stoires, poems, and journal entries, tucking them under my bed like little pieces of my heart. In high school, my favorite classes were English and creative writing. My English teacher once told me I should become a writer, but I didn't think I was "good enough" to make anything of it.
Losing My Spark
When I got married, that creative spark faded. Somewhere along the way, my hobbies disappeared. I was told that my life was "over" that being a mom was my entire identity now. I love my kids more than anything, but I lost myself in the process.
The only thing that resembled a "hobby" back then was my involvement in MLMs. they were my little escape from the routine of everyday life, but it still wasn't the same as having something that truly felt like mine.
The Turning Point
After I filed for a divorce, I reconnected with Phenox. A decade apart we found each other again. He brought back a light in me that I thought was gone forever. He had kept the poems and letters I wrote him all those years ago, and one day he told me, "You should get back into writing."
I laughed at first. "it's been years," I told him. "I don't even know how to start again."
But he didn't give up on me. He bought me pretty notebooks and pens, encouraging me to just write anything. He got me back into riding horses too, another passion I had long buried.
From Gaming to Blogging
Phenox got me hooked on gaming, and it wasn't until I combined it with writing that someting really clicked. Phenox gave me the idea to start writing gaming reviews and gaming product reviews. Then he said something that changed everything.
"you know, you could also write about how you got started, and tech others how to do it too."
That's when my passion really grew. I realized I didn't just want to talk about the things I love. I wanted to help others, inspire them, and give them a safe, cozy space to dream bigger.
My Digital Diary
I didn't even realize it at first, but my blog became my digital diary. I'd been silenced for so long that once I started writing, I had so much to say. Every post, whether it's a game review, a piece of advice for creators, or a personal story, is a little piece of me.
The best part? it doesn't even feel like work. I wake up everyday excited to create, to share, and to build something that's entirely mine. After years of feeling like I had nothing that was truly me, I finally have something to look forward to every single day.
And to think.....it all started with a notebook under my bed.
