Okay, so....I officially joined the Costco club Friday.
And guess waht? I've already gone back.
I wasn't planning on becoming a full-blown Costco mom this fast, but after just two trips? I get it now.
I totally get the hype. The big carts. The samples. The massive boxes of snacks. The deals. The food court.
As someone shopping for a family of seven, let me tell you....this membership might just be the best thing I've done all year.
So here's my little "newbie at Costco" story plus everything I wish I had known before I walked through those magical sliding doors for the first time just a few days ago.
The Day I Signed Up (And Fell in Love)
Friday, I finally said "Okay fine, let's just go check it out."
I kept hearing people say how great Costco was, but honestly...I didn't fully believe them.
I walked in, signed up for a membership, and grabbed a cart the size of a small boat. Fifteen minutes in, I was like:
"Wait.....where has this BEEN my whole life?!"
I was like a little kid in the candy store and tossing things in the cart like a woman possessed.
Pocky's, Nerds, a giant Dog, and a Pikachu plushie and the crazy part?
I went back today!
As in, two Costco trips in my very first week.
It's giving no self-control, but also no regrets.
What I Wish I Knew Before Walking In
The Cart Is Big! And It Fills Up FAST
I was like, oh, wow, these carts are huge, I won't even fill it.
LIES!
Absolute lies
Halfway through, I was trying to tetris everything so I could fit just one more thing.
The Prices Are Sneaky Good
It doesn't look like you're spending much. $10 here, $15 there. But you're buying bulk, bestie.
So it adds up fast- but when you break it down per unit? It's saving you big time!
Especially when you've got a full house to feed.
The Snacks Hit Different
I walked in thinking I'd just grab some basic snacks to much on during convention. Next thing I know, I'm deep in the snack aisle with a party size nerds bag, 64 count box of granola bars, a big jar of M&Ms, and a giant bag of trail mix.
Costco + Big Families=A Match Made in Bulk Heaven
I've got a family of 7 to feed.
And let me tell you shopping anywhere else lately has felt like I'm buying for bottomless
pit with a full-price receipt attached to it.
But with Costco?
I can stock up in one trip
I can portion things out and freeze the extras
I can finally stop doing emergency snack runs mid-week.
There's just something SO satisfying about seeing your pantry full and knowing it's going to last more than a few days.
Let's Talk About the Food Court Though
Can we take a moment for the $1.50 hot dog and drink combo?
I was tired, sweaty, and hungry. It has been a long day and that giant slice of pizza and the frozen yogurt cup were everything I needed.
My wallet didn't cry, and my stomach left happy. 10/10 experience.
What I've Learned After Just Two Trips
Bring a list....but don't expect to stick to it
Bring TWO carts if you're doing a big family stock-up
Use the app to check deals before you go
Don't pass up on the fun seasonal stuff! Once it's gone, it's gone
And whatever you do: go with time to browse, because there's SO much more than just food
From a Newbie Costco Mom
I've only had my Costco membership for a few days....
But I'm already that girl who's like, "let's go to Costco for fun."
It's not just a grocery trip, it's an experience. A cozy little adventure where you feel like a responsible adult and a kid in a candy store at the same time.
So, if you've been on the fence about signing up, I hope this cozy little Costco membership review helps you see the oversized magic.
And if you need me, I'll probably be back at Costco this weekend.
Again.
With a trunk full of goodies and no regrets,
Uni
