If you've followed me for any amount of time, you already know I'm deep in my horse girl gaming era. I can say the horse girl phase ever ended. It just evolved.
As a kid, I collected Breyer horses, watched horse movies, read horse books, and spent countless hours riding horses. Now, as an adult I have my own horses, horse games, and an entire content niche built around sharing my love for them.
And here lately I've noticed horse gamers are finally getting options! For years, it felt like we were lucky if one decent horse game released every few years. Most of us were replaying the same games over and over because there simply wasn't much to choose from.
But now? My Wishlist keeps growing, and yes, it's a problem I'm perfectly okay having. Here are the upcoming horse games I'm most excited about right now.
Fernhoof Grove
The moment I saw Fernhoof grove, I immediately added it to my Wishlist. The entre game gives off cozy vibes, which is exactly what I look for these days. I've reached a point in my gaming life where I don't always want intense competition, complicated mechanic, or stressful gameplay loops. Most days I just want to saddle up a horse, explore a beautiful world, and enjoy the journey.
Ferhoof Grove looks like it understands that. The environments look peaceful. The atmosphere feels warm. And the name alone sounds like a place I'd want to visit in rea life.
I'm hoping this games delivers.
meaningful horse care
beautiful exploration
relaxing gameplay
cozy world-building
If it can pull those things together, I can easily see this becoming one of my favorite comfort games.
Wind's Heartbeat
Out of every game on this list, Wind's Heartbeat might be the one I'm most curious about. There's something about it that immediately grabbed my attention. Maybe it's the atmosphere. Or the emotional feel of the game. And maybe it's because horse games with heart tend to leave the biggest impact on me. Some of my favorite games aren't the biggest or most popular. They are the ones that make me feel something. And This game gives me that impression already.
I'm hoping for:
strong horse bonding mechanics
emotional storytelling
immersive exploration
and meaningful progression
The title itself feels like it belongs to a game that's trying to tell a deeper story. And I do love a story-driven experiences, I'm really excited to see more.
Barbie Horse Ride & Rescue
Before anyone judges me......Let's me remind you who I am. I'm a horse girl! Of course I'm excited about a Barbie horse game. Playing Barbie Horse Trails gave me that nostalgic of barbie horse games. And Barbie was often one of the few places you could find horse adventures. Do I expect this game to be the most realistic horse game experience. UMMM NO! I do expect it to be fun! Sometimes gaming doesn't need to be deep it just needs to make you smile. And seeing Sneak peaks of this game has me so excited to play.
Horses of Hoofprint Bay
This is probably the game I'm watching the closest right now. Everything about this game is designed specifically for people like me.
Horse lovers, cozy gamers, people who enjoy slower-paced experiences. And the name alone makes me imagine a small coastal town filled with horses, trails, adventures, and charming characters. And after playing the demo I have high hopes for this game!.
The things I'm most excited about are:
Horse relationships
community elements
exploration
cozy gameplay systems
and the graphics!
The horse game genre desperately needs more games that blend horses and cozy gaming together and this one looks incredibly promising.
Canter Cove
First off let me say the title is adorable! Canter Cove immediately sounds like a place I'd want to spend all my free time. I love the name!
From what I've seen so far, I'm hoping for:
lots of horse interaction
relaxing environments
charming locations
memorable characters.
One thing I've learned over the years is that horse games don't need massive worlds to be enjoyable. the smaller, more personal experiences are the ones that stay with us the longest. And Canter cove gives me that feeling.
Why This Feels Like a Golden Age for Horse Gamers
What excites me most isn't just these individual games. It's what they represent. For years, horse gamers felt like an afterthought. We watched every farming game get horses. RPG gets horses. Open world gets horses, but actual horse games? Those were rare!
Now we're finally seeing developers invest in this genre again.
We're getting:
more cozy horse games
better graphics
stronger stories
more creative ideas
games built specifically for horse lovers
Which is about time! As someone whose content revolves around horse games, cozy gaming, and horses in real life, seeing all of these upcoming titles has me excited for the future. Will every game be perfect? No, Will I still play them? Heck yea! Because every new horse game helps grow a genre that so many of us have loved for years. And my Wishlist is getting longer by the day.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be refreshing game pages, watching trailers for the hundredth time, and patiently waiting for the day they are released.
